The journey toward abundance often begins in a place most of us know all too well—limitation. I didn’t always see the world as full of possibilities. For much of my life, I lived within the boundaries of what I thought I could achieve, limited by my own mindset, circumstances, and the beliefs I absorbed growing up.
Here begins a story of life. My life. True life events and the power of mindset. This is my own personal journey of enlightenment. Enlightenment is to give someone greater knowledge about a subject or situation. I believe enlightenment is a life long journey. This book will walk you through the pivotal year in my life. The year I realized there are no such things as coincidence, serendipity leads to synchronicity, religion and spirituality are one in the same, and a crucial part of success is service first.
As a single mother of five young children, I often found myself overwhelmed by the weight of responsibility. Managing their needs, my career, and my dreams felt like an impossible balancing act, especially while navigating the end of a 13-year relationship with their dad. At that time, my children were just 8, 7, 5, 3, and 1 years old. I remember asking myself, How am I going to make this work? My situation felt like a maze with no exit, and I didn’t yet understand that the walls around me were not permanent—they were of my own making.
It wasn’t just my personal life that felt confined. Even as I pursued professional success, there were moments when I believed I had reached the ceiling of what I could achieve. I had worked in healthcare for two decades, starting as a CNA and CMA, then earning my LPN license and an associate’s degree in liberal studies in 2010 from Washburn University. I gained valuable experience, moving into management roles, growing an agency from 3 staff members to 150, and helping to secure over 50 contracts. Yet, despite these accomplishments, I doubted my worth and often felt like I was stuck in a rut—moving nowhere quickly.
This sense of limitation persisted when I launched my own business, Vision Staffing, in 2020. Fueled by a vision to help others improve their lives, the company immediately took off, generating seven figures in its first and second years. By the third year, we were on track for $3 million in revenue. Then life threw me curveballs—one after another. The company grossed just over half a million dollars in 2024, a sharp decline that felt like failure at the time.
In hindsight, I see that year as a blessing in disguise. It taught me invaluable lessons about resilience and growth. It was mother nature's way of telling me I was not aligning and a way for me to start over. It began a magical, inspirational journey. The setbacks were not the end of my story; they were simply part of my evolution. In the midst of all of life, I ended up with an accounts receivable of $200,000, largely due to a subconscious scarcity mindset and an ingrained fear of the unknown. I also faced $50,000 in unexpected personal expenses, which nearly broke me. But instead of letting those challenges defeat me, I made a choice: to rewrite my narrative and let this be the start of something greater. I chose to make this the new beginning. Not another chapter. A whole new book.
At the time, in 2025, I was living in a 5,400-square-foot house with my children, managing without daycare and unable to qualify for assistance because I "earned too much." Yet, I went eight months without a paycheck, living off savings and sheer determination. If it had been just me, I might have sold everything and lived out of my car. But that wasn’t an option with five little ones depending on me. Every decision I made was with them in mind, and the weight of those decisions often felt unbearable.
During this tumultuous period, I experienced moments of clarity and recognition that gave me hope. I was awarded Marquis Who’s Who recognition, featured in P.O.W.E.R. Magazine, and acknowledged in Corporate Vision Magazine for my contributions to recruiting. These honors came at a time when I was $20,000 behind on my house payment, wondering how I would make it day to day. They reminded me that I was on the right path—that I was capable, even in the face of adversity.
I realized that most of my financial struggles were tied to loans that simply needed to be brought current. This was the moment when my perspective began to shift. I saw a light in the darkness, and with it, a new beginning.
Looking back, I understand that the challenges I faced were not just external—they mirrored the limitations of my own mindset. Staying trapped in this cycle of scarcity and fear would only perpetuate those patterns for myself and my children. I had to break free—not just for me, but for them.
This book is about that journey: how I transformed my life from one of limitations to one of conscious abundance. It’s about recognizing the walls we build around ourselves and finding the courage to tear them down. It’s about the tools, lessons, and mindset shifts that can change not just your circumstances, but your entire outlook on life.
I hope you take this opportunity to join me as I take you on my journey. I will incorporate worksheets you can use to help create your own destiny and be the ruler of your own Dominion (Thank you Nick and Andre for always telling me these things.)
I would invite you to ask yourself what are some times in your life you felt like you were failing, only to realize that you were opening doors for greater things. To think about what would happen if you learned to live your life in a state of “everything I desire is already here, I just need to pursue it.” I would love to show you how I did this and how you can make little adaptations into your own life. Some of the things may sound down right insane, however I will provide examples to make it make sense. Down the rabbit hole we go……..
